New Editor Wanted

Chris Helme After six years, the current respected editor of the NABBC’s The Conductor, Chris Helme, has decided it is time to pass the editors baton on to someone else. He will however stay with the Association to support it’s reorganisation.

This vacancy provides a wonderful opportunity for a young editor looking to gain a working knowledge and experience of the NABBC or, a more experienced editor with a passion for the brass band movement. The Association would like the new editor to take up their new role at the beginning of January 2013.

Being a conductor is not a necessity for this post. However, good interactive, communication, IT and literacy skills will be essential. Support will be offered and freely available. Whilst a very small honorarium is available to the successful applicant, this post should be considered for its opportunities as opposed to any financial gain.

The Conductor will continue to celebrate and promote the aspirations of the NABBC in its quarterly publications but this frequency may be revised as website interaction increases. There will be some autonomy given as to the format and content of publications but it is also expected that articles will also be displayed on our website. This interaction is likely to increase as the NABBC’s new strategies are introduced.

This is an exciting time to work with the NABBC and interested applicants should send their letter of application and CV to Andrew White, 12 Church Meadow, Hyde, Cheshire SK14 4RT. Further information is available by calling 07973727881.
