NABBC Master Classes for Brass Instrumentalists & Musical Directors
The Master Classes will be directed by NABBC President Mr Russell Gray and supported by experienced Musical Directors Andrew White, Melvin White and Martin Obermuller. The core of musicians for this event will be the long-term successful Aveley and Newham Band.
The total cost is £25 for non-members and free for existing NABBC members (£20 per person if eight or more instrumentalists come from the same band).
The venue is The Coopers' Company and Coborn School, St Mary's Lane, Upminster, Essex, RM14 3HS.
10.00 Massed bands directed by Russell Gray
‘Meeting a band for the first time, endorsing expectations, developing positive interactions and setting bench marks’
11.00 Tea / Coffee
11.20 Sectional rehearsals. Massed band will divide into cornets/horns and the lower brass. Visiting conductors have been asked to bring an item with which they are familiar. They will divide into two groupsand then rehearse their chosen item. Guidance from the directors will be offered to improve conducting techniques.
12.30pmLunch - conductors will be invited to a local restaurant (meal is not included in the participating fee)
